Teacher got the gift of life from husband

Sarah Dalton received the precious gift of life from her husband Conor

 The 31-year-old underwent the live donor procedure in Beaumont Hospital last October, and revealed that she was waiting over a year before her operation took place.
She had been diagnosed with a kidney condition called reflux nephropathy when she was a child, and had received a kidney from a deceased donor when she was 17 years old.
However, she was told on the eve of her wedding to Conor (31) in 2011 that her kidney had failed.
"I was on the live donor list for a year. We were initially told the waiting time was three to six months. It's definitely at least one year, and that's if it is plain sailing.
"It's frustrating. But I know the medical staff are striving for it to be shorter, and they definitely are doing their best." Read more
